Legal Counsel

Pennell Hart has been instructed by a leading internationally focused energy company to recruit an inhouse lawyer to join their existing team. Due to significant growth within the business and the continued vision to expand, the need for an additional lawyer has arisen.  Working in a small but very effective legal team, and reporting to the General Counsel, your workload will cover a wide variety of corporate and commercial legal matters, including:

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating international trade contracts
• Handling any dispute-based matters
• Drafting and reviewing general commercial contracts
• Supporting compliance in relation to KYC/sanctions queries

The position has potential to extend significantly in the future to include providing legal support on finance and trade finance matters as well as M&A and other corporate matters.

In order to be considered for this position, the candidate must have a minimum of 4 years’ PQE (UK equivalent), have trained and worked for an international law firm and have experience of international trade and /or marine law and /or commodities. Current Middle East regional work experience is ideal but not essential for this position.
